The PTSO supports the mission of Carol Rae Ranch Elementary School through volunteerism and fundraising. The CRRE educational team, comprised of dedicated students, parents, faculty, volunteers and community members, is committed to creating a secure and enthusiastic learning environment for our children. We strive to assure our children an atmosphere where their social, emotional, and academic needs are met. We are dedicated to promoting life long learning while recognizing individuality and the diversity of others.

Our bylaws document explains our purpose, our policies, how we are organized and how we conduct business in our meetings. It is our governing document and the final say in everything we do.

Our approved 2019-2020 budget governs expenditures and distribution of income we receive.

Board Member Roles and Responsibilities

President role and responsibilities: Primary Contact:  lead, liaison, preside, create event and fundraising calendar, supervise fundraising, file documents, order.

Vice President role and responsibilities Three VP board positions available.

1. Events:  Oversee all community building events, encourage volunteer involvement, utilize committees for event planning & carrying out.

  • Fall Festival/Monster Mash
  • Mid-Year Family Fun
  • Spring Carnival
  • Quarterly Donut Mornings
  • Utilize signup genius to encourage parent volunteerism

2. Hospitality:  Organize and oversee all faculty and staff hospitality,  encourage volunteer involvement, create committees when possible:

  • Teacher birthday celebrations
  • Teacher Appreciation Week events
  • Back to School luncheon, Parent Teacher Conference (PTC) supper, End of Year Appreciation luncheon
  • Three themed Food Carts
  • Staff appreciation - Cupid Cash
  • Utilize signup genius to encourage parent volunteerism

3. Marketing and Communication:  Maintain the public identity, creation of publicity materials and digital communications to reach parents and community in timely relevant manner.

  • Website maintenance

  • Print and distribute flyers

Secretary role and responsibilities:  Record proceedings including votes, conduct correspondence for organization, log membership information.

  • Prepare agenda for Board and General meetings
  • Distribute minutes to Executive Board and membership
  • Maintain PTSO book of records
  • Document memberships and volunteers, email the distribution list as appropriate.
  • PTSO Table at Meet the Teacher Night

Treasurer role and responsibilities:  Plan, approve and maintain budget, maintain bank accounts and financial records using QuickBooks, file taxes, pay bills, ensure proper use of money.

  • Keep log of Yearbook and Renaissance payments
  • Prepare monthly report using Excel.
  • Ensure proper money procedures are followed as stated in the bylaws and standing rules.
  • Collect, verify, deposit money, distribute income
  • Process letters and payments for Teacher Reimbursements - three times yearly
  • Prepare cash boxes for events
  • End of Year donation statements

Officer positions are elected through vote each year during the last PTSO meeting.
